From The Pastor
Please allow us a moment to introduce you to the pastor of Sheldon Baptist Church, Dr. Timothy
Anderson. He is a man with a big heart to reach people of every age. He has the ability to
instruct and motivate people in the work of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our pastor was saved April
20 th 1975 after he watched the “Burning Hell” film. In the film, the boy’s name was Tim and he
rode a motorcycle and at the time our pastor was riding a Harley. The boy on the film was going
to hell and so was our pastor. After the 4 th verse of the invitation hymn, our pastor stepped out
and gave himself to the Lord. Many were praying that he would be saved, especially his
grandmother. Our pastor, before his conversion, was a rock musician in a group which played at
proms and parties all around. Right before his conversion, his group played at the Greensboro
Coliseum twice as a backup group. The group was on the verge of cutting a record. In his
testimony, he says he was so thankful that he was saved before becoming more entrenched in
the drug culture and life style in which he was heading. Three months after he was saved,
Pastor Anderson surrendered to preach. Our pastor preached his first sermon a few months
later. The Lord moved in the service in such a mighty way that the Lord fully convinced him that
God would be with him throughout his ministry. Our pastor has served as an assistant to
several men of God over 40 plus years. He has earned several degrees from bible colleges. He
has also served as bus director at 3 churches and has run his own bus routes even while
pastoring. He has worked with children of all ages as well as many ministries in the local church.
Our pastor has witnessed God’s moving on many occasions. In one of the churches he
pastored, they had over 450 saved and baptized in one year with many of these added to the
church. Dr. Anderson became the pastor of Sheldon Baptist Church in 2015. Dr. Roy Hall
started Sheldon Baptist Church in 1943 with a handful of members. Now Dr. Anderson, being
the 3 rd pastor of this church, continues the work which Dr. Hall started.
Dr. Anderson stands for “The Old Paths” and “The Old Ways”. In this day of change, we will
stay true to the King James Bible. We extend to you a personal invitation to meet and hear him
this coming Lord’s Day!
